Caoimhe O’Sullivan Completes Vancouver Marathon After Raising Over €40,000 for Aid Cancer Treatment

Aid Cancer Treatment would like to congratulate Caoimhe O’Sullivan following her incredible completion of the 2025 BMO Vancouver Marathon, where she crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 3 hours and 39 minutes.

Even more remarkably, Caoimhe’s fundraising campaign has now raised over €40,000 in support of cancer patients, services and cancer research in Cork, with donations remaining open until May 10th.

What began as one woman taking on a marathon challenge has become an extraordinary international show of compassion, generosity and community spirit stretching from Cork to Canada and beyond.

Caoimhe, originally from Glasheen in Cork and now living in Vancouver, undertook the 42.2km challenge in loving memory of her uncle, Donal Butcher O’Sullivan, who sadly passed away from cancer in December 2025 following a brave battle at The Glandore Centre.

She also ran in honour of her mother, Déirdre, who is currently undergoing treatment at Cork University Hospital following a recent leukaemia diagnosis.

Over the past several months, Caoimhe’s story has resonated deeply with people both at home and abroad, with supporters rallying behind her campaign through donations, messages of encouragement and widespread sharing across social media.

What makes this achievement even more special is the enormous impact these donations will have here in Cork.

Funds raised through Aid Cancer Treatment help support improved facilities, patient services and cancer research initiatives connected to Cork University Hospital and University College Cork.

Everyone at Aid Cancer Treatment has been deeply moved not only by the extraordinary amount raised, but by the determination, positivity and compassion Caoimhe has shown throughout this journey.

To complete a marathon is an achievement in itself.

To do so while carrying such personal meaning — and while helping so many others in the process — makes it truly extraordinary.

We would like to sincerely thank Caoimhe, her family, her friends, supporters, donors and everyone who helped spread the word over the past number of months.

Cork is incredibly proud of you.

Donations remain open until May 10th for anyone who would still like to support Caoimhe’s fundraiser and Aid Cancer Treatment’s ongoing work supporting cancer patients and research in Cork.
